About Diamante:
Diamante (Dimo) Ortiz comes from the Los Sures area of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Over the course of her childhood, she has witnessed how creative energy within QTPOC, Black, and Brown spaces creates transformative powers. As a direct product of growing up at the height of gentrification in Williamsburg, she continues to expand her understandings on what a liberated world will look like in their lifetime, while also continuing her passions in creative content and into her poetry, writing and community organizing.
Over the course of her adolescence, Dimo has learned how to continue to teach herself new ways to expand said creative outlets. As an alumnus of El Puente Center for Peace and Justice, they have created meaningful relationships with her mentors. From this, she has learned what it means to advocate for her peers, and verse in writing poems and MC in subjects such as Decolonization, Healing, Heritage among others.
This website is a space to encourage those to grow alongside this creativity and to become inspired, but to also recognize where community building can continue to flourish. Dimo continues to remain true to living in her authentic truth. An alumnus of Temple University (CO ‘20), with her degree in Political Science, with a passion for Community Development, they carry this through their current work within their artistry, content cultivation, and storytelling all around.
